Gaining support for a 7-year-old word processor may make people believe ReactOS will never become a viable Windows Clone. Even though Windows XP is dead and even if it take another 17 years to be a useable XP Clone, ReactOS would not only be useful for legacy hardware that needs XP, but at that point being a Windows 7 Clone would be a feature update instead of starting from the ground up.

Most modern Windows hasn't really changed much since NT 4.0, it's mostly band-aid work. You could have used NT 4.0 daily from 1994 to 2007. The only real thing that keeps XP from being a usable OS today apart from security patches is 64-bit support and newer versions of DirectX.
