Get the illegal aliens out of our country. If you can't obey our laws, you don't belong here.

This was the most misguided half truth filled video I have ever seen.

I think the only criteria for immigrating to Japan should be that you want a better life.
I think the only criteria for immigrating to South Africa should be that you want a better life.
I think the only criteria for immigrating to Korea should be that you want a better life.
I think the only criteria for immigrating to Indonesia should be that you want a better life.

The US should return to an immigration policy that fosters its foundation and majority ethnic group : White Europeans. Let me know when countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia at al import millions of people that are different from their majority ethnic group.

Immigration policies in the US, Canada and Europe did and should favor Whites. Are White nations the only countries in the world that are pressured to destroy their majority demographic ? Who cares about merit immigration if the majority ethnicity is extinct ?

NPR is EXACTLY why the concept of a human "free press"will always be delusion. The only difference is now in the technological age we pretty much all get the hoax.Even your science Friday's are attempting to indoctrinate me .One Friday I listened and all your astrophysicists were female.Do you know how much effort must have went into avoiding the men?
I don't need an answer -it will all be "we hold these truths to be self evident"specious crap.
I would have all of you shot.
I don't mind when a member of the western "free press"disappears in a foreign land .Of course the "free press covers it as if it were a moon landing.Such is your delusional self perceived importance to our
collective survival .NPR- you are basically what new England women(for that matter old England),wish the world was like .

Yes but welcome to 2018 we are not in the 1400. Columbus discovered America in 1492. And this is 2018.

Does the US need a population of 1 Billion ? Cut all immigration, legal and illegal. 3x the cars on the road. 3x the houses. 3x the sewage. 3x the garbage. 3x the environmental damage.

Merit based immigration policy seems much better then the previous immigration policies that NPR is presenting as (perhaps falsely) racist.

The US is weary of mass immigration. Do we really need 1 million unskilled, uneducated 3rd world miserables to become citizens every year ? The US needs to reduce immigration to 100,000/year, tops.

The Chinese Exclusion Act is responsible for the success of the US. Imagine Chairman Mao's work in North America.

White Nationalists founded the US. White European immigrants built the US. An immigration policy that favors Europeans has proven to be a good thing.

I think we should just focus on filtering out people with criminal or high-risk backgrounds such as drug abuse or a history of support for violent extremism. Removing government social safety nets would weed out new people who aren't interested in contributing to society. I don't see any need to make it more complicated (and therefore more expensive) than that. Once that's done, an easier path to citizenship would make a great deal of sense as well.

actually USA would lose its charm if it did not pit other countries against each other. Few people would like to relocate from where they were born and brought up and where they have been acclimatized ,unless there were war and poverty.

I think the only criteria for immigrating to America should be that you want a better life. That's what every person who came here of their own free will has wanted so why should we start excluding those people now?

Canada has a merit based system. In some respects the US has already given priority to immigrants who have certain skills that might be needed in the US. thus the H-1B (for specialty workers), an L-1 visa (for intracompany transferees). I know that more than 85,000 people are allowed in the US every year under the H-B visas. (65,000 being sponsored by companies , who are mostly computer experts, engineers, doctors and scientist, and 20,00 mostly under an educational H-1B lottery, those with master degrees or higher) Of course they can bring families, but that is under a different VISA program. These H-1B workers are also allowed to apply for citizenship.
