Do you know if To Do will have the ability to email tasks to it just as Wunderlist does? This is a feature I love!

Why didn't they just rename "Wunderlist" to "Microsoft ToDo". They've spent the last couple of years rebuilding an app that already existed and adding 'requested features' that already existed in Wunderlist…

It's pathetic how long it's taken Microsoft Todo to get as good as Wunderlist. It's still not there yet, what the heck?

There's no way I will pronounce a w as a v. How silly does the following sentence sound? Men have a vee vee via their villie. Maybe Microsoft could spell it in English or Welsh.

I used to love using Things, then nothing improved for years so I went to Wunderlist, then MS ruined it with the cheesiest to do ever, but Things was reborn (sort of) and I paid a lot of cash to get back to that.
Now Things are adding meaningless stuff instead of improving version 3 (like collapsible areas) so I’m getting fed up with Things. At least they’ve not gone over to pay by month which I really dislike.
    So there’s my thoughts.

Disappointed, but that’s sadly par for the course with MS. I loved Wunderlist but abandoned it quickly after they became part of MS as I felt the writing was on the wall. I also used to use Sunrise calendar (IMHO the BEST calendar app for iOS). Then MS bought them, promising to roll Sunrise capability into Outlook iOS (which used to be Acompli, one of the best iOS email apps). They haven’t destroyed Acompli, but they really haven’t developed it much either, and the promised Sunrise integration is… well, there isn’t even a month view in the Acompli/Outlook calendar, so you decide. I try not to hate Microsoft, but I’ve learned to give them a wide berth. They’re big and slow and tend to think everybody uses or should use WIndows and Office. Some of us don’t and don’t need to.

I started to use Wunderlist 1 week ago and I LOVE it! Does this transfer thing means that they will shut Wunderlist down or it will just not get updates?

I moved on from Wunderlist to Todoist. I have an Office365 subscription, and yet I'd still rather not use To-Do. That's how bad it is. The Wunderlist people really sold out on this, turned their legacy into crap, but it's hard to judge them for it as I am sure they got paid well, and they did spend years working on the brand.

Todoist is probably the nearest independent equivalent to what Wunderlist used to be and it has all the platform apps and integrations. This is what I now use.

I am going to use wunderlist till it dies. I dabbled with Todoist for a while but do you think paid version is good enough for a power user who doesn't collaborate with other users?

I use Wunderlist daily as to do list is not functional enough to be my daily driver.

I used to really like Wunderlist and was sad when it was purchased by Microsoft. I stopped using it not long after as I too believe it will eventually be done away with. Happy to see MS TO DO is adding more features and updating others. I tried it a while back but was unimpressed. Maybe I will revisit it eventually when more improvements have been added.

I used to use Wunderlist a lot until Microsoft purchased them, then I knew it would be downhill from there…..so then I switched on over to Todoist and haven't looked back. Not a big fan of Microsoft, so they can fiddle around with Microsoft To Do all they want, but they will never come close to what Wunderlist was or what Todoist is……….just my 2 cents 🙂

I really enjoyed using Wunderlist. All the functionality cross-platform and through an internet browser…for free.
What I mostly liked to use was the tasks and sub tasks and assigning them to someone, location based reminders, attachments and chat function within the task or project. Now I’m trying to get my team to migrate to Trello for that.

This feels like Skype deja vu. Someone makes a good app, MS takes over, stops development or slows it down, than they don't try to give users what they want or improve it, but try to offer it as integrated stripped down service in their other services. Oh yeah they also tend to change names of the service every week just to confuse the users. That is what happened to Skype and as much as I have been following Wunderlist, its the same things. Such shame. Just Microsoft being, well Microsoft.
