Thank you Patrick. I knew this feature should be simple but the MS help pages are Cr@P and/or Out-of-Date

When I click the back button it does go back to the source. But when I click the tab for details, the results are still filtered. Is there a way for the filter to be removed, when clicking the back button? And what are the options available for clearing the filter on the detail page after having clicked on the "drill through" from the source page?

Thanks for the great explanation in the video. It works great but I have one issue that maybe you can help resolve? Once I drillthrough to the next page, I want to see the specific records but PowerBi won't keep the filters from the original page I started from. Any tips?

Hello Patrick, I would like to drill through from a gauge visual. I have a bunch of gauge visuals on one page, and I would like to drill through to a second page that has details behind the gauge. So far, I have not been successful. Is it possible to drill through from a Gauge visual?

How did you display the country and color drill through selections at the top of your drill through table?

i have a question and its unrelated but i dunno where else to ask. i have a clustered column chart, IDs as an axis and 4 different values that are lab analysis results. i also have a date column which indicates when analysis was made. we run periodical lab analysis on those IDs that are basically samples so the data is going to be periodically updated. i need my report to show LATEST values for the IDs whenever i refresh report. there are options to show maximum or minimum or sum of the values per ID, but i need the report to show me the up to date info, that being latest lab results for each ID that will be updated on my source excel file. is there any way to do that?

How can we implement same drill through feature for 2 different linked reports , Hope you have a solution for this.
I wanted to pass a value from a main report to the multiple detailed analysis report using this feature, which I have created using hyperlinking concept

I have two pages in a Power BI report with different page level filters on both the pages. Page 2 is details of page 1, when I drillthrough from page 1 to page 2, can the page level filters in the details page be removed to adjust to the drillgrough field from the page 1?

Nice video. Is it possible to carry over the date in the slicer to the detail page when you drillthrough? I have a couple slicers defined in the summary page and would like to pass them to the drillthrough page. Thanks.

In my opinion the drill-through feature seems to be made obsolete by bookmarks. I would be curious to know what drill-through might be better at than bookmarks.

Experienced developer, new to PBI. So, this is great if you want a prefab drillthrough. What if you want the end user viewing this to choose the parameter for drilling through? For example, provide a grid with a dropdown with a list of field labels and when you click on a row in the grid it drills using the field selected in the dropdown.

    Hi Patrick,
It is very nice video to learn Drillthrough option. I am facing an issue with drillthrough option on smartphone or any other touchscreen device. Because they haven't functionality of Right click, so users are not able to use it on touch screen devices. Can you suggest a way out to use drillthrough option with the touchscreen?

Hi guys, I noticed that if I have a filter with multiple selection enabled, multiple selection goes lost after drilling-throught (I see only one item). The DAX expression for multiple selection is right, it has the desidered behaviour if tested in the main page where filter is located. Could it be a bug?!?

I have NEVER used an app that was this difficult to use and figure out. If it wasn't for you, guys in a cube, i'd be f****ed… everything useful i know about PBI, i learned here.

This is great! I recently built a report utilizing the Drillthrough feature for a “Details” page, which is outstanding, but now I have other high level stakeholder reports that want to Drillthrough to the same page in my original report, so I keep renaming/saving the origin report and keeping the Drillthrough “Details” page then creating a different report pages around it (sure there’s a better way, but I’m still learning, so no big). So, I thought about using URL links to create a dynamic filter to a completely separate “Details” report that multiple reports can link to. The conditional column and links worked, but the filtering did not. I’ve re-scratched a few times and took a few day breather to contemplate, but still no filtering.
At first I was using the URL of the Drillthrough “Details” page from the original report (test version), but only the first row project information would show. Then I created a completely separate test report (just the “Details” page) with no Drillthrough features, now ALL the projects try to show, depending on the visualization. I feel like I’m missing something super simple. Any ideas?
