Does anyone know how to do a digital signature where each line of the 'signature' slides in from one and then the other?

Kevin, I know you did note the difference between digital and electronic signatures. It’s important to note that this electronic signature is nothing but an image, which means the recipient can easily extract it and use it too. And no one can tell the difference between their copy and your original.

We can add signature with out any additional installation app like note one / Microsoft mobile app.
1- Simple write signature on white paper
2-Take a photo with any phone / any camera.
3-Just import it to Microsoft PowerPoint’s any version.
4- Just it by cropping & markup as you set the size.
5- Right click on save as picture.
6- Your digital signature are ready & can be use in any MS application even in 3rd party app.
Like Adobe. Nitro & pdf files.

Thank you, that was so thorough and easy to understand!

(The signature synced nicely, except for some reason the program wouldn’t let me change the red ink to black. When I click on that pen icon it allowed me to draw, instead; as if it were an Etch-A-Sketch!)

Kevin, have you see anything about the new Waiting Lobby Experience for teams? Its referenced in a Microsoft 365 blog post from back in August. It says you can brand your meetings and have a branded meeting lobby.

A word of caution here though. As Kevin mentioned electronic signature is more of an image embedded in the document. However, that's just one part of it. Electronic e-signature also has another couple ot elements 1) of a tamper proof seal on the document, and 2) audit trail of the signature process. Both of which are not illustrated in the video, however, tools like Adobe Sign and Docusign do provide these features.
Please don't go around signing documents with just the image embedded in it. You won't be able to satisfactorily articulate the signature's authencity (non-repudation as they call it) in the court of law.

This type of e signature is not secure by the way. Best way is to use docu sign or any other similar service.

Is the option to sign a pdf only on the Office App on the phone? Or is there an option in Microsoft Office on your computer?

I have a document that I need to sign, so I tried this with my iPhone. The drawing option you showed in your iPhone app does not appear in my OneNote app. I did a quick google search, and Microsoft's support page indicates this is available on iPad, but is not currently supported on iPhone. Did something change since you made this video? Is there still a way to do this using an iPhone?

Is that your actual signature cause that might be a security threat showing it to public? But I’m pretty sure you’ve already thought of this.

I didn't know there's a difference between digital and electronic signature. Can you also make a video of digital signature as well? Thanks

    Stéphane English

    (October 16, 2020 - 8:06 am)

Electronic signatures are pretty meaningless; even compared with a wet ink signature, where the flow of the ink from pen to paper is unique to how you move. Anyone can scan your signature from another document and paste it into whatever they want. Better to have proof of sign-off with a Sharepoint workflow or a traceable email. What we really need, though, is a way of producing a properly authenticated, digital signature. So please, please give us a video on how to produce and manage digital signatures.

Buena suerte.

I like the idea. But I am afraid that any one can just copy my signature easily when I sign in a word document. I know Adobe has a feature that makes it hard to copy a signature by locking the file. May be it better to save the word doc as a PDF to protect your signature once it's signed.
