Introduction to Surface Modelling in SolidWorks [Webcast]

About this tutorial:

Video duration: 00:37:27

Surface modelling is a technique in SolidWorks that allows you to manipulate the surface of a model. In this webcast, we learn how to do this by using lofts, sweeps and splines. The applications of this technique are countless – from consumer product design through to aerospace, surface modelling is a very powerful tool.

superb ! I've learnt so much, the single most informative video on solidworks I've ever watched. I'm sure I'll need to watch it multiple times though : it feels a long time till I can work my way through this stuff without help, yet you make it so clear and explain the "why" of each stage which is half the battle. thank you.

Someone please help ASAP! How did you split the spline into two elements and used the loft tool @13:09. I Have tried using the split entities tool but whenever i tired to use the loft feature it selects the small element at first and then it re selects the whole spline.

So helpful to learn the surface tools, thanks!

Very cool. I'm not sure how clean the surface intersections would be if you did a zebra view BUT the video touches on some really cool tools that I didn't even know existed!

Using spline in modelling is not a good practice, This method is not good for 'design for manufacturing' criteria, This Channel is only good for those who looking for just learning the software tool.

This is a great video, I started hating SW becase it is not intuitive and the user experience is not very similar to other design programs, but with this explanation it is easy to understand why many people loves it. THANKS!
