[iOS Advice] How To Edit The Sender Name Of Your Email Account

If you’d like to edit an iCloud sender name, tap “Advanced” at the bottom of the “Account” screen to edit the “Name” field.

Heres how to do this on iOS 13!

1. Go to settings
2. Scroll down to “passwords and security”
3. Under the ‘Accounts’ section, click on the email service you use (mine is gmail, so I would click gmail)
4. Click on ‘Account: ~your email here~’
5. It should now show an account info section at the very top where you can change your name!

Thanks Dom, dont know how but i set up a name for my account back then when i was younger, now that am an adult, the user name looked so silly and i have tried for years to edit it but all in vain, until i saw this video and realized i could only change it through my phone settings.

For newer iOS, go to Settings -> Passwords & Accounts -> select either your gmail, yahoo, etc account -> click on where it says “Account” followed by your email address. From there you can change your name 👍🏻

Why can't I change the gmail address "sent from" to an address I have sent to before with the wrong "sent from" address? Even when I choose the correct "sent from" address, it reverts to the wrong original one every time.

Thanks Don, this has been driving me crazy for a long time. My son accidentally put his name instead of mine when he set up my iPad. Every time I send an email using my iCloud account it shows that it's from my son instead of me. You're the best!

Thanks for the video but I I have a shaw email account that I need to change the name on . I followed along on your video but there is no "name" option on my account. On that screen where you have name, I have Email:, Server:, Username:, Password:, Description: and Advanced: ( and in advanced, there is no "name" selection, .) Ive tried so many forums and shaw forums are the worst. Any ideas? Thanks.
