This talk was excellent. I didn't disagree with one thing she said and based on my life experiences with doing exactly what she shared, her techniques really do work.

This is a profound addition. Thank you, Barbara, for such an amazing talk and boosting the self-esteem of myself and all our brothers. You are so sweet and also sounds like that yellow little bird from Tom and Jerry.

After getting B's/C's during college, I read her book. I then enrolled in a masters program, and got a 4.0 and then killed the MCAT (98th percentile) and now I'm one year away from being a medical doctor at one of the top 10 schools in the US. Crazy how this one little book changed so much for me.

I think that marijuana puts you in the diffuse mode without having to almost fall asleep and you can be actively thinking through an issue in diffuse mode. That’s why, if you’ve ever smoked pot, when you’re high, new concepts are easier to grasp and old ideas have a new clarity that wasn’t there before.

Human beings are biologically equipped to learn or make sense of the real world or CREATE knowledge of the real world but modern education makes modern educated people into analyzers of second and information and assumes that they have learned. Naturally, this activity of reading, making up distorted images in the head, using reason to organize this information kills our natural ability to learn. learning like breathing can not be taught. It is natural for all biological/living beings to learn. But you can distort it, numb it, damage it. So if we are able to understand the cognitive damages inflicted upon us due to schooling, early literacy and now the early digital immersion we can start the process of undoing the damages.

I can equate this entire oration to smoking. I can have a cigarette after an hour's study and I blare some music while cleaning my environment. So, I'll do both and well if I get to have that cigarette. In the background, there is a reward. This lady is a great speaker. I can see why she is a professor. What a focused mind. p.s. I quit smoking and feel completely unmotivated :).
