Setting Homework in Teams

About this tutorial:

Video duration: 00:04:01
A short video on how to set a homework assignment in Teams.

I made this video for staff at my school, so when I’m talking about expectations, these are for staff at TCOLC. Hopefully it is still of interest to other schools and colleges.

I’ve since made a much more detailed guide to the Assignment tool in my video “Teams Assignments Deep Dive”, here:

Your videos are clear and are not overwhelming with too much information. Thank you. I am a music teacher and have attached a PowerPoint to an assignment as a homework task. The embedded backing tracks are not working. Is there a trick?

I know this is made for your school and you aren't getting them to submit on Teams but we are due to the closure at the moment and my classes had a lot of problems today. I gave them a word file to edit and upload but a lot of them either couldn't edit it (they did 'edit in teams' but couldn't actually type on it), or had problems uploading it. Is there any chance you could make a video with step by step instructions on how students do this?

Thank you so much for this video! I have another troubleshooting question for you if you have a moment. I distributed pages to my student notebooks several days ago. Some showed up and some didn't. I waited a couple days, and tried to distribute the pages again. 24 hours later there are still about ten that haven't shown up. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for your thoughts.

Hi – where does this assignments tab come from? I can only see a Grades tab and if I click it a message is displayed "Create and mark assignments to start tracking class progress".

Very useful in these difficult times for teachers (and students), thank you. Could I please ask you what software you use to create your videos? I would like to be able to record my screen and also have my webcam in the corner to record my lessons – or even better, being able to livestream it directly to my students. Thank you!

Thank you for the video! I have found Microsoft Teams a great way to help students keep up with their learning. Also teachers are starting to becoming more familiar with its capabilities, especially creating a class and setting up remote lessons. Hopefully as time goes on, educators will become more confident and continue to provide excellent support to our students. Keep up the good work!
